Here are the names of four men that were born and raised on Carpenter St. (Shalto?) and Aberdeen St. during the 20’s through the early 40’s. Each served in the Atlantic and Asian theaters during WW II. Each of these men saw combat, and all returned to their family. Oldest to youngest:
    James Sammarco, Army
    Cuneo ‘Pat’ Sammarco, Navy
    Salvatore ‘Subby’ Sammarco, Army
    Peter Sammarco, Army

    Thank you,
Marc Sammarco, son and nephew of these men.
